Oil Pastels Workshop

In this class, you'll use vibrant bird photographs as inspiration to explore mark-making and a variety of oil pastel techniques, including blending, layering, and cross-hatching. By closely examining the shapes, patterns, colours, and textures of the birds, you'll develop the skills to recreate these elements with oil pastels.
Additionally, you'll learn simple drawing tricks to help you accurately capture the forms of your chosen birds. Oil pastels are a user-friendly medium - unlike oil paints, they don't require brushes or solvents. We'll work on coloured sugar papers, allowing you to take home your beautiful finished artworks without the need for drying or fixative, ready to be framed and displayed.
This class is open to anyone who enjoys drawing and creative expression, regardless of prior experience.
